- Renault unveils the concept car to test new ways of improving electric-vehicle efficiency
Renault recently introduced the Renault Filante Record 2025, a single-seat electric vehicle designed for efficiency and range record attempts. The car pays homage to Renault’s past record-setting prototypes and will be showcased at the Retromobile classic car show in Paris.
The design of the Filante Record 2025 draws inspiration from Renault’s historic record cars, featuring open-wheel bodywork and cab-rearward proportions reminiscent of the 40 CV des Records. The car’s aerodynamic shape and lightweight construction contribute to its efficiency goals.

Renault Filante Record 2025
The Filante Record 2025 features a combination of carbon fiber, aluminum, and steel in its chassis construction. Topology optimization techniques were used to minimize material usage and reduce weight to under 2,204 pounds. The car’s battery pack, steer-by-wire, and brake-by-wire systems further enhance its efficiency.

The Filante Record 2025 is equipped with specially-designed Michelin tires to reduce aerodynamic drag and rolling resistance. While similar in purpose to the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX, the Filante Record 2025 is tailored for racetrack performance rather than road use.
