- Ram’s First Electric Truck Set for 2026 Launch
- Series-Hybrid Ramcharger Expected in First Half of 2025
- Stellantis Reports Slowdown in Battery-Electric Demand
The all-electric Ram 1500 REV pickup truck has faced another delay, with the series-hybrid Ram 1500 Ramcharger now scheduled to debut earlier, as confirmed by Stellantis in a recent press release.
The REV was first showcased before the Ramcharger, premiering in a 2023 Super Bowl ad. Initially planned for a 2025 release, the REV’s launch has now been pushed back to 2026, following a previous postponement to ensure quality.

On the other hand, pre-orders for the Ramcharger will open in the first half of 2025. This model features a 92-kWh battery pack and a 3.6-liter V-6 engine as a range extender, marking a shift in Stellantis’ initial launch strategy.
According to the press release, the decision to prioritize the Ramcharger was driven by consumer interest and the evolving demand for half-ton BEV pickups in the market.

While the Ram 1500 REV boasts impressive specs with up to 500 miles of range from a 229-kWh battery pack, the Ramcharger offers 145 miles of pure electric range with an additional 545 miles from the V-6 range extender. Both models feature similar power output, towing capacity, and payload numbers.
With competitors already offering all-electric pickups, the Ramcharger’s introduction as a plug-in hybrid truck positions Ram ahead in the market. The shift in launch plans suggests that the Ramcharger may outshine the REV in the electric truck segment.
