President Trump Chooses Tesla Model S Plaid After Convoy Arrival at the White House
Today, U.S. President Donald Trump was greeted by a convoy of Tesla electric vehicles at the White House, following his announcement that he would be purchasing one of the company’s cars in support of Elon Musk. The convoy included a variety of Tesla EVs such as the Model S, Cybertruck, and Model Y, which arrived in Washington around lunchtime. President Trump took the opportunity to sit in, examine, and contemplate which car he would ultimately choose. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that the President would be paying full market price for the vehicle.
Accompanied by CEO Elon Musk, President Trump was assisted in making his decision. After considering his options, President Trump appeared to be leaning towards the Tesla Model S Plaid in Deep Red, the company’s fastest and most luxurious offering. Expressing his preference for the Model S, President Trump stated, “The one I like is that one (Model S). And I want that same color. I’m going to give [Tesla] a check. I don’t want a discount.”
President Trump’s Comments on Tesla and Elon Musk
President Trump has developed a positive working relationship with Elon Musk, whom he has praised as a genius and brilliant individual. Speaking about Tesla, President Trump commended the company as a great American car manufacturer that employs thousands of people and operates state-of-the-art facilities.
Regarding the Tesla lineup, President Trump noted, “I know people that have these cars; It blows them away. They love them.” He also expressed admiration for the innovative design of the Cybertruck, stating, “In terms of imagination, and I think I have a pretty great imagination, who else but this guy would design this and everybody on the road is looking at it. As soon as I saw it, I said, ‘That’s the coolest design.’ You gotta give him (Elon) credit.”
