An exciting announcement from Porsche CEO Oliver Blume – an all-electric version of the iconic Porsche Cayenne SUV is set to be unveiled later this year. The reveal is scheduled to take place on the West Coast, marking a significant milestone for the luxury automaker.
Porsche first confirmed plans for the electric Cayenne two years ago, with the intention of offering a fully electric alternative to its current gasoline and plug-in hybrid models. The electric Cayenne will be built on a separate EV-specific platform, similar to the approach taken with the electric Macan.
While the existing non-hybrid and plug-in hybrid models will continue to be available for the foreseeable future, Porsche is committed to expanding its electric vehicle lineup. The company aims to have electric models represent 33%-35% of its global sales in 2025, with 20%-22% being fully electric.
Porsche’s shift towards electrification has been a strategic move in response to evolving market trends and consumer preferences. The decision to introduce an all-electric Cayenne underscores the brand’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the automotive industry.
