Tesla has officially launched the highly anticipated new Model Y in the United States. This new version of the all-electric crossover is designed to be more comfortable, efficient, and technologically advanced than its predecessor.
One of the most notable updates to the Model Y is its redesigned exterior. Tesla has made significant improvements to the aerodynamics of the vehicle, resulting in better range, performance, and overall longevity. The new Model Y also features updated wheels, tires, brakes, and a retuned suspension for a smoother ride. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with eight exterior cameras, including a self-washing camera in the front bumper.
In terms of color options, the new Model Y in the United States is available in Stealth Gray, Ultra Red, Pearl White Multi-Coat, and Quicksilver paint. Unfortunately, Glacier Blue, which is offered in vehicles from Giga Shanghai, is not available in the US. All paint options for the new Model Y Launch Series in the US are offered at no additional cost.
Moving to the interior of the vehicle, the updates are equally impressive. The front row seats of the new Model Y are now ventilated, providing enhanced comfort for passengers. The second-row seats are electronically adjustable and power folding, adding a touch of luxury to the cabin. With acoustic glass all-around, the interior of the new Model Y is exceptionally quiet, providing a serene driving experience. Tesla has also introduced “invisible speakers” in the cabin for a premium audio experience.
The Model Y Launch Series is currently only available in a Long Range All-Wheel Drive variant with an EPA estimated range of 320 miles per charge and a 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds. The starting price for the Model Y Launch Series Long Range AWD is $59,990, which includes Full Self-Driving capability. Customers also have the option to lease the vehicle for $699 per month with a down payment of $2,999 for 36 months at 10,000 annual miles.
