Lucid Motors is gearing up to deliver its highly anticipated Gravity SUV to regular customers starting in late April. This marks a significant milestone for the electric vehicle startup, as it transitions from producing vehicles for internal use and limited customers to wider customer deliveries.
The Gravity SUV is Lucid’s second model and is crucial to the company’s future success. Production of the SUV began in early December at Lucid’s factory in Arizona. Initially, the vehicles were delivered to Lucid employees, as well as their friends and family members, for testing and evaluation. Additionally, vehicles were prepared for showrooms across the country for display and test drives.
With the completion of the initial phase of production, Lucid is now preparing to deliver the Gravity SUV to regular customers. Marc Winterhoff, Lucid’s interim CEO, announced in a LinkedIn post that vehicles for studios and test drives are nearly completed and will begin arriving at locations across the U.S. in April. For early customers eagerly awaiting their Gravity delivery, additional vehicles are expected to be delivered by the end of April.
The Gravity SUV features three rows of seating and is expected to appeal to a broader base of buyers compared to Lucid’s debut vehicle, the Air sedan. The Grand Touring model, which is the first offering, boasts an impressive 450 miles of EPA-estimated range and starts at $96,550, including destination charges. A lower-cost Touring model is set to arrive later this year.
As Lucid continues to expand its product lineup and reach a wider audience with the Gravity SUV, the company is hopeful that this new model will help drive its success in the competitive electric vehicle market. With deliveries set to begin in just a few weeks, customers can look forward to experiencing the luxury and performance of the Lucid Gravity firsthand. The Lucid Gravity is making waves in the electric vehicle industry as one of the first non-Tesla EVs to feature a Tesla-designed charging port. This new development signals a shift in the American auto industry towards standardizing charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
The Gravity’s press launch is scheduled for next month, and InsideEVs will be there to provide all the details about this groundbreaking vehicle. With the Tesla-designed charging port, the Gravity is set to offer seamless and efficient charging capabilities for its users.
This move towards a standardized charging port is a significant step forward in the EV market, as it will make it easier for EV owners to access charging stations across different brands and models. This development is part of the broader effort to improve the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and make EV ownership more convenient and accessible.
The Gravity’s Tesla-designed charging port is just one of the many innovative features that set this EV apart from the competition. With its sleek design, cutting-edge technology, and impressive performance, the Gravity is poised to make a big impact in the EV market.
