Lucid Air electric vehicle owners will soon have access to over 23,000 Tesla Supercharger DC fast chargers in North America, starting from July 31. This partnership between Lucid Motors and Tesla aims to provide convenient charging options for Lucid Air drivers, especially during long-distance travels. However, in order to utilize these Superchargers, Lucid Air owners will need a Lucid-approved NACS to CCS1 adapter, which can be purchased for $220. This adapter is necessary due to the voltage disparity between the Superchargers and the Air’s battery pack.
Charging at Tesla Superchargers will provide the Lucid Air with a charging power of 50 kW, allowing drivers to gain up to 200 miles of range per hour. While this may not be the most efficient solution for long road trips, it serves as a reliable emergency charging option for Lucid Air owners.
In addition to the Supercharger access announcement, Lucid Motors has also introduced some updates for the 2026 Lucid Air models. The Air Touring trim now features a more energy-dense battery pack, resulting in an EPA-estimated range of 431 miles, an increase of 25 miles compared to the previous model. This surpasses the range of the entry-level Air Pure trim, which has a 420-mile rating.
Furthermore, the 2026 Lucid Air Grand Touring retains its impressive 512-mile range and now includes 20-way power memory and massaging front seats as standard features. These upgrades come at a price, with the Air Pure and Touring models receiving a $1,000 price hike, and the Grand Touring model now costing $4,000 more than before. The starting price for the Lucid Air sedan is $72,400, while the Grand Touring model starts from $116,400.
Overall, the collaboration with Tesla Superchargers and the enhancements to the 2026 Lucid Air models demonstrate Lucid Motors’ commitment to providing high-quality electric vehicles with improved features and performance for their customers.
