Given that Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund is Lucid’s largest shareholder and has agreed to purchase up to 100,000 Lucid EVs, it is conceivable that the Air sedan could be utilized by Saudi Arabian police forces in the near future. Lucid also plans to establish a factory in Saudi Arabia by 2025.
While some California police departments currently incorporate electric vehicles into their fleet, such as modified Teslas by UP.FIT, concerns have been raised about maintenance challenges and limited space in smaller models like the Model 3 and Model Y.

Despite the challenges faced by some California police departments with Tesla conversions, other automakers like Ford and General Motors are also stepping into the realm of introducing police variants of their electric models, such as the F-150 Lightning and Chevrolet Blazer EV, respectively. Stellantis has also hinted at a police edition of the upcoming Dodge Charger Daytona.
