Kia recently unveiled the Concept EV2 at their Kia EV Day event, giving a glimpse into the future of super-small, super-affordable electric SUVs. The Concept EV2 is set to come with two battery options – LFP and NCM, with prices starting at 30,000 Euros ($31,500). Expected to go on sale in 2026 in Korea, Europe, and other regions, the U.S. market is unlikely to see this model.
The Concept EV2 is built on Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP platform, designed for the European city car segment. It features a rugged and purposeful design with squared-off wheel arches and vertical lights, following Kia’s Opposites United design language. The interior is a standout feature of the car, offering surprisingly spacious accommodations despite its small size. Rear-hinged doors make entry easy, and the rear seats can be folded upwards to create more space or even serve as a dining area.
The cabin of the Concept EV2 is packed with innovative features such as sliding luggage dividers, removable triangular speakers in the doors, and a message lighting system to communicate with other road users. LED lighting highlights the door cards and dash, adding a touch of modernity to the interior. Recycled materials are used throughout the cabin, in line with Kia’s commitment to sustainability.
Expected to come with vehicle-to-load charging, over-the-air updates, and other modern tech features, the Concept EV2 is more than just a concept. Kia President and CEO Ho Sung Song hinted that a production version of the car will be seen before the end of 2025. With its innovative design and practical features, the Concept EV2 is set to make a mark in the electric vehicle market.
