Karma Automotive has recently unveiled a new luxury two-door extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) called the Amaris. This sleek sports car is built on an all-aluminum spaceframe and features a body made from a combination of aluminum and carbon fiber. The design of the Amaris takes inspiration from its four-door sibling, the Revero, which is a continuation of the original Fisker Karma.
The Amaris boasts wide thighs and unique “swan doors” that swing upwards for easy access. It rides on 22-inch forged aluminum wheels with a stylish design called “Constellation.” The body of the car includes a clamshell hood at the front and a pass-through spoiler at the rear, enhancing both aerodynamics and downforce.
Under the hood, the Amaris is powered by an innovative EREV system that includes a BMW-sourced four-cylinder gas engine, an electric generator, a battery pack, and electric motors. This setup allows the car to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 165 mph. It’s a significant improvement over Karma’s previous models and showcases the company’s commitment to performance and innovation.
Karma Automotive plans to start sales of the Amaris coupe in the fourth quarter of 2026. This will be followed by the introduction of the Kaveya all-electric “super-coupe” in 2027 and the Ivara electric SUV in 2028. Additionally, the company will launch the performance-oriented Invictus in the second quarter of this year and the revised Gyesera EREV four-seater in the final quarter of 2025.
Overall, the Karma Amaris represents a new era of luxury electric vehicles from Karma Automotive, combining cutting-edge technology with striking design elements. With a focus on performance and sustainability, the Amaris is set to make a significant impact in the automotive industry.
