VinFast recently unveiled four new models tailored for fleet, taxicab, and livery services in Vietnam. These models include the Minio Green, Herio Green, Nerio Green, and Limo Green. Among these, the Minio Green stands out as a compact city car designed to replace motorcycles for urban transportation.
The Minio Green boasts an impressive range of 111 miles (180 km) on a single charge and can reach a top speed of 52 mph (85 km/h). Despite its smaller size and slower speed compared to the VF3, another model in VinFast’s lineup, the Minio Green offers a charming and practical solution for city driving. With a 26-horsepower motor, the car is equipped for efficient urban commuting. It also features DC fast charging capabilities at a maximum speed of 12 kW and AC charging at 3.3 kW.
In response to the growing demand for electric vehicles in Vietnam, VinFast has introduced these new models to provide alternatives to traditional motorbikes commonly used for taxi services. The country is experiencing a transportation renaissance, with small EVs like the Minio Green gaining popularity as replacements for motorcycles. VinFast’s strategic move to cater to this market segment aligns with the changing landscape of mobility in Vietnam.
Apart from the Minio Green, VinFast also announced the upcoming launch of three other models in January. The Herio Green and Nerio Green are modified versions of the VF 5 and e34, respectively, while the Limo Green is a seven-seat EV designed for livery transport. By expanding its EV portfolio to cater to specific market segments, VinFast demonstrates its commitment to innovation and adaptation in the automotive industry.
While VinFast’s EVs may still have room for improvement, the company’s proactive approach to creating vehicles tailored to local market needs sets it apart in the industry. As other brands navigate the transition to electric mobility, VinFast’s focus on developing EVs for specific use cases positions it as a key player in Vietnam’s evolving transportation sector. The lessons learned from models like the Minio Green and VF3 could pave the way for future advancements in VinFast’s lineup, such as the anticipated VF8.
In conclusion, VinFast’s introduction of the Minio Green and other EV models reflects the company’s forward-thinking approach to addressing the evolving transportation needs in Vietnam. As the automotive industry continues to shift towards electrification, VinFast’s commitment to innovation and market responsiveness positions it for success in the rapidly changing mobility landscape.
