Kia has officially unveiled the production version of the highly anticipated EV4, showcasing both hatchback and sedan variants of the electric vehicle. The images of the EV4 were released by Kia, deviating from the initial plan to reveal the car during the annual EV Day event on February 27.
The decision to reveal the EV4 ahead of schedule may be attributed to the striking resemblance between the production model and the concept car that was introduced in October 2023. This move follows the trend set by the Hyundai Motor Group with successful models like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Kia EV9.
The sedan variant of the EV4 maintains a traditional sedan design, although it features a straight-cut hatch and a prominent roof spoiler. On the other hand, the hatchback version of the EV4 aligns more closely with the refreshed EV6 crossover, offering a sleek and modern design with a possible rear wiper concealed under the spoiler.
While technical specifications have not been disclosed yet, it is expected that the EV4 hatchback will be slightly smaller than the EV6, positioning it as a versatile and compact electric vehicle. The EV4 sedan, on the other hand, is anticipated to compete directly with popular models like the Tesla Model 3.
Both variants of the EV4 will come equipped with 19-inch wheels as standard, with the GT-Line trim offering additional sporty features such as wing-shaped front and rear bumpers and unique triangular 19-inch wheels.
Although there is no confirmation regarding the availability of the Kia EV4 in the United States, customers in South Korea and Europe can look forward to ordering this stylish and innovative electric vehicle later this year. Stay tuned for more updates on the Kia EV4 as the full reveal is scheduled for February 27.
