- Processes for EVs to enhance ICE models as well
Recent years have posed a unique challenge for automakers, with fluctuating EV supply, market demand, and regulatory shifts prompting decisions on dedicated EV plants. Honda remains committed to achieving 100% electric vehicle sales by 2040 and zero environmental impact by 2050. The company aims for 40% EV sales in North America by 2030, alongside 50% hybrid sales in the U.S. Honda’s move towards a new production template, allowing for the manufacturing of both EVs and gasoline models on the same line, demonstrates its adaptability to market dynamics.
The Ohio EV Hub, comprising the Marysville plant and other facilities, signifies Honda’s step towards mass EV production in North America. The hub, with an investment exceeding $1 billion, will house facilities for producing ICE, hybrid, and EV models on a single line. This strategic investment marks a shift in Honda’s global manufacturing approach, setting a benchmark for EV production.
