Lucid Motors has recently unveiled its latest concept vehicle, the Gravity X, at Monterey Car Week. This new concept is a rugged version of the Gravity, which is the company’s first SUV. The Gravity X takes inspiration from Rivian’s ruggedness, giving the sleek SUV a more off-road ready look.
Originally based on the Gravity Grand Touring model, known for its impressive range, horsepower, and spacious seating, the Gravity X has been transformed into a dirt-churning off-roader. The concept features a slightly lifted body, custom wheels with knobby tires, and skid plates for added protection. The front and rear fascias have been redesigned to provide better approach and departure angles, while a modular roof system allows for additional gear and accessories to be mounted on top.
The design of the Gravity X includes topographical maps of Big Sur and Death Valley etched into the hood, along with orange accents that are carried through to the interior piping on the seats. While the concept may never see actual off-road action, it certainly stands out with its bold and adventurous aesthetic.
Should Lucid decide to put the Gravity X into production, it could potentially attract a niche market of adventure-seeking EV enthusiasts. The concept’s unique blend of luxury and ruggedness sets it apart from other electric SUVs on the market. Whether or not the Gravity X becomes a reality, it has certainly sparked interest and speculation among fans of electric vehicles.
