Tesla is revolutionizing the way potential buyers experience their electric vehicles with a new program called Electrify Weekender. This innovative initiative allows attendees at the Electrify Expo to take a Tesla model home for an extended test drive over the weekend.
Partnering with Electrify Expo, a travelling EV and tech festival, Tesla will be the first automaker to offer this unique opportunity. The program will debut at Electrify Expo Los Angeles on June 21–22, giving drivers the chance to choose a Tesla model and experience it in their everyday life for two full days.
Unlike traditional in-event demos, the Weekender program allows attendees to truly immerse themselves in the Tesla driving experience. Interested drivers can sign up online or at the event, with Tesla coordinating the details through its local stores. This initiative builds on Tesla’s previous efforts to offer extended test drives for existing customers.
The Electrify Expo 2025 Schedule includes stops in various cities across the United States, with events planned in Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Dallas. This expansion aims to reach new audiences and break outdated myths surrounding electric vehicles.
BJ Birtwell, founder and CEO of Electrify Expo, expressed excitement about the program, stating, “Electrify Weekender gives people the freedom to experience EVs on their own terms. At our festivals, thousands of attendees get their first taste of EVs through hands-on demos, and that’s often the spark that starts their journey. With Weekender, we’re extending that experience into real life.”
The goal of the program is to provide potential buyers with more time behind the wheel of an EV in real-world settings to help alleviate doubts and build confidence before making a purchase. Other car brands are expected to join the program at future stops on the tour, offering attendees a diverse range of electric vehicles to test drive.
In previous years, Electrify Expo has showcased groundbreaking initiatives, such as the debut of the first Cybertruck test drives in San Francisco. By continuing to push the boundaries of electric vehicle experiences, Tesla and Electrify Expo are paving the way for a future where EVs seamlessly integrate into everyday life.
