Enjoy a Variety of Games in Your Tesla with YouTube Playables

For years, Teslas have offered games through Tesla Arcade, but now with YouTube Playables, users have access to a wide selection of full-screen titles. YouTube Playables allow you to play games in your web browser, whether you’re on your phone, computer, or in your Tesla vehicle.

YouTube’s Playables feature popular mobile game adaptations, including classics like Cut the Rope, Chess, Daily Crossword, Element Blocks, and more.

Accessing Playables

To access the new games in your Tesla, simply open the YouTube app in Tesla Theater on either the front or rear display.

Once in YouTube, tap the Compass icon at the top left to open the YouTube menu, scroll down, and select Playables.

While Google initially launched with 75 games, there are now hundreds of games available to play.

Full Screen or Windowed Play

With Tesla enabling YouTube in a full-screen window, you can enjoy games in full-screen mode, similar to Tesla’s other Arcade titles. Alternatively, you can play games in a smaller windowed version by tapping the icon in the top-left corner, allowing you to access other vehicle controls like climate settings.

Game Compatibility

YouTube Playables are compatible with both Intel and AMD vehicles and do not require a download as they run in the browser. While there may be some lag in games on Intel-based cars, most games are still enjoyable. Loading times are slower on Intel vehicles compared to AMD vehicles. All games utilize the vehicle’s touchscreen and do not currently support controllers, but they are adapted mobile games designed for touchscreen play.

The Future of Gaming on Tesla

With Tesla recently removing Steam from newer vehicles and YouTube introducing over 75 browser-based games, Tesla’s gaming direction may shift. While YouTube Playables may not offer the same caliber of games as Steam, they cater to the casual gaming needs of most users looking to pass the time in their cars.

With nearly a hundred games now available on Tesla, alongside their existing offerings, Tesla may choose to focus on other features or provide unique gaming experiences like the Supercharger Races in Beach Buggy Racing. This special edition allows players to compete for the fastest lap at their local Supercharger and climb the Supercharger leaderboard.
