Tesla has decided to give fans more time to participate in its TeslaVision fan video contest, extending the deadline to August 31 or until 10,000 entries are received. Originally set to close on July 17, this extension gives procrastinators a chance to enter and potentially win a brand-new Model Y.
Announced on June 11, the contest challenges participants to create a short video (90 seconds or less) showcasing how Tesla enhances their lives with more freedom, safety, fun, and convenience. The competition is open to both Tesla owners and non-owners in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
To enter, contestants must upload their video to YouTube, share it on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram while tagging @Tesla and using the phrase “TeslaVision contest,” and then submit the URLs on Tesla’s contest page. The grand prize includes a new Model Y valued at around $45,000 USD and an all-expenses-paid trip to Gigafactory Texas for an exclusive tour. Two runners-up will also receive the VIP tour treatment.
This isn’t Tesla’s first time involving its fanbase in creative endeavors, as a similar video contest was held in 2017. The revived competition coincides with the global launch of the refreshed Model Y, demonstrating Tesla’s reliance on its dedicated community to convey its message authentically.
If you have a creative idea, editing skills, and a love for Tesla, don’t hesitate to submit your entry soon. The Model Y prize awaits, and remember to share your submissions in the comments section. The clock is ticking, so get filming and show the world how Tesla adds more to your life!
