Exciting Updates Coming to Apple Maps for Tesla Owners
Apple Maps is set to enhance its support for Tesla owners by adding real-time availability of Tesla Superchargers. This update, spotted by Aaron from X in the latest iOS 18.4 Beta, will allow users to see how many chargers are currently in use at Supercharger stations.
In addition to Tesla Superchargers, Apple Maps is also expanding its support for NACS chargers. With NACS becoming the official charging connector in North America, Apple Maps will now alert users if they are navigating to a NACS station without the correct port for their vehicle.
Enhanced Charging Station Information
While Apple Maps already displays detailed information about Tesla Superchargers, such as power output and number of stalls available, the addition of real-time stall availability for Superchargers is eagerly anticipated. This feature will bring Apple Maps closer to Tesla’s own trip planner, which dynamically adjusts routes based on station occupancy and estimated arrival state of charge.
Furthermore, Apple Maps will soon integrate Tesla’s API to provide real-time Supercharger availability, making it a reliable alternative for finding nearby charging stations.
Seamless Navigation Experience
With these upcoming changes, Apple Maps aims to provide a seamless navigation experience for Tesla owners, including alerts for necessary charging adapters and support for different charging connectors. This integration will not only simplify the charging process but also enhance the overall driving experience for electric vehicle owners.
