A more extreme version of the Tesla Cybertruck has just been introduced.
Recently, Archimedes Defense, a defense contractor, and UP.FIT, a division of Tesla tuning house Unplugged Performance, unveiled “apocalypse ready” Sting packages for the Cybertruck. These upgrades are designed for government and defense purposes, making the Cybertruck suitable for any terrain. The announcement also mentioned potential civilian applications.
The enhancements are based on the Invincible upgrades that UP.FIT revealed shortly after the Cybertruck’s debut in 2023. The packages offer various levels of enhancements, with pre-orders now available. However, specific pricing details have not been disclosed.
The Base Sting Baja package features Starlink connectivity, with a satellite receiver mounted in the truck bed. Additionally, an AMP Drive G125 800-volt generator is installed in the frunk, capable of running on jet fuel, JP-8, diesel, and biodiesel. This generator can provide up to 125 kw of energy for recharging the Cybertruck or other electric vehicles, and it includes a NACS charging cable with adapters for non-NACS vehicles.
The Sting Protector package includes bolt-on offset steel armor plating, designed to withstand a 7.62 mm assault rifle. This package can be added separately from the Sting Baja package’s generator.
For maximum protection, the Sting APC package offers IED and mine protection through upgraded bolt-on offset steel and ceramic plating. This advanced shielding can withstand hits from 14.5 mm heavy machine guns, as per Archimedes Defense.
In a separate development, UP.FIT recently introduced a police package for the Cybertruck, which has already been adopted by the Irvine Police Department for their fleet.
