A classic 1966 Ford Mustang has been transformed into a cutting-edge autonomous vehicle thanks to Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software. The project, shared by X user @Tutrifour, showcases the fusion of vintage Detroit muscle with state-of-the-art autonomous driving technology.
The red two-door Mustang coupe has undergone a complete overhaul, with Tesla internals now powering the vehicle. This includes not only the powertrain but also the full suite of Autopilot hardware. @Tutrifour confirmed that calibrating the Autopilot hardware took extensive effort, with Tesla’s FSD cameras seamlessly integrated into the windshield and front fenders. The placement of these cameras had to be precisely dialed in to ensure proper system functionality. Additionally, the vehicle now features a Cybertruck steering wheel, adding a futuristic touch to the classic car.
The integration of Tesla’s tightly controlled FSD hardware/software stack into a non-Tesla vehicle was no small feat. Reverse engineering, custom mounting solutions, and meticulous system tuning were necessary to make the project a success. The builder shared that it took time to adjust the repeaters and finally get them to calibrate, highlighting the complexity of the conversion process.
Wes Morrill, Tesla’s lead Cybertruck engineer, praised the project, calling it the best conversion he had seen. He commended the integration of the powertrain and Autopilot system into a beautiful classic car, describing it as a remarkable achievement.
In a follow-up video, @Tutrifour demonstrated Tesla’s Summon feature working seamlessly in the converted Mustang. The vehicle was able to autonomously navigate out of a parking space, showcasing the advanced capabilities of Tesla’s FSD software.
The project not only showcases the versatility of Tesla’s technology but also highlights the creativity and skill of automotive enthusiasts. By combining classic design with cutting-edge autonomous technology, @Tutrifour has created a one-of-a-kind vehicle that pushes the boundaries of what is possible in the world of automotive customization. In today’s fast-paced world, it can be easy to overlook the importance of taking a step back and slowing down. With technology constantly at our fingertips and the pressure to constantly be productive, it’s no wonder that many people are feeling overwhelmed and stressed.
However, there is a growing movement towards embracing a slower pace of life. This movement, known as the slow living movement, encourages individuals to take a more mindful approach to their daily lives, focusing on quality over quantity and finding joy in the simple things.
One of the key principles of slow living is living in the present moment. This means being fully engaged in whatever task or activity you are doing, whether it’s cooking a meal, going for a walk, or spending time with loved ones. By focusing on the present moment, you can cultivate a sense of gratitude and appreciation for the little things in life.
Another important aspect of slow living is embracing simplicity. This can mean decluttering your home, simplifying your schedule, or reducing your consumption of material goods. By simplifying your life, you can reduce stress and create more space for the things that truly matter to you.
Slowing down also means taking time to rest and recharge. In a society that often glorifies busyness and hustle, it can be easy to overlook the importance of self-care and relaxation. By prioritizing rest and relaxation, you can improve your overall well-being and prevent burnout.
The slow living movement also emphasizes the importance of connecting with nature. Spending time outdoors, whether it’s going for a hike, gardening, or simply sitting in a park, can have numerous benefits for both your physical and mental health. Nature has a way of grounding us and helping us feel more connected to the world around us.
In a world that is constantly moving at a rapid pace, the slow living movement offers a refreshing alternative. By embracing a slower, more mindful approach to life, you can reduce stress, improve your well-being, and find more joy in the little moments. So why not take a step back, unplug from technology, and embrace a slower pace of life? You may just find that it’s exactly what you need to feel more fulfilled and content.
