Tesla’s highly anticipated Cybercab is making significant progress towards production, with a recent video providing the clearest glimpse yet of what the final version could look like. Shared by Tesla enthusiast Sawyer Merritt and originally sourced from @Cory__17, the footage and photos showcase what appears to be a production-ready Cybercab on display at Tesla’s Santana Row showroom in California.
Compared to the Cybercab prototype unveiled in October 2024, the latest version boasts a myriad of design refinements both inside and out, signaling that the vehicle is nearing its official production start in spring 2026, as confirmed by Tesla.
One of the most notable changes can be seen at the rear of the Cybercab. The trunk has been redesigned with a slightly narrower opening, eliminating the side humps present in earlier versions. The interior lining has been upgraded to a more durable material, and the powered struts appear to be significantly enhanced. Additionally, there are new trunk latch design and a centrally located close button on the hatch, along with possible venting towards the back. The rear hatch itself has also undergone subtle reshaping.
The interior of the Cybercab has also seen significant evolution. The door cards feature a new design with updated trim and handle areas, while frameless windows contribute to a cleaner, more modern aesthetic. Ambient lighting has been refreshed, and Tesla has introduced a new carpet material and redesigned seats with improved bottom cushions for enhanced comfort. A new slit running across the dashboard hints at revised air venting.
The centerpiece of the interior is the massive center display, now described as the largest screen ever fitted to a Tesla at approximately 21 inches. It has been integrated further into the dashboard for a seamless look and includes two upward-facing USB-C ports in the center console.
Externally, the Cybercab showcases a redesigned front bumper with an extended lower splitter, an updated front light bar with integrated headlights, dual windshield wipers, new wheel covers with thicker tires, and powered butterfly doors with open/close buttons near the bottom of the B-pillar. The powered door mechanisms and struts throughout the vehicle appear to be entirely new.
Designed specifically for Tesla’s Robotaxi network, the Cybercab is a two-seat, all-electric autonomous vehicle. Tesla has been conducting tests of Cybercab prototypes on public roads in California and more recently in Austin, Texas. The company recently began unsupervised Robotaxi testing in Austin, marking a significant milestone for its Full Self-Driving aspirations.
With production slated to commence in approximately four months, the latest sighting of the Cybercab indicates that Tesla is finalizing the vehicle’s design as it gears up for manufacturing and deployment as a key component of its autonomous ride-hailing service.
