Starlink has recently unveiled its updated Residential internet plans in Canada, following similar changes that were introduced in the U.S. earlier this week. The revamped plans feature clearer naming conventions and a three-tier lineup designed to cater to a variety of usage needs. Canadian customers were notified of these changes via an email from Starlink.
One of the most significant updates is the reintroduction of the Residential 100 Mbps plan, which now stands as Starlink’s most affordable fixed home internet option in Canada. Priced at $70 per month, this plan offers unlimited data with download speeds of up to 100 Mbps. Unlike in the U.S., where the price of the 100 Mbps plan was increased by $10 (from $40 to $50 USD), the Canadian pricing remains unchanged from when the plan was initially launched last fall.
The Residential 200 Mbps plan, priced at $110 per month, now occupies the mid-tier position. This plan, which replaces the previous Residential Lite option, offers faster download speeds of up to 200 Mbps, unlimited data, and improved Wi-Fi performance for everyday household use.
Sitting at the top of the lineup is the Residential Max plan, Starlink’s premium home internet offering now available in Canada for $140 per month. This plan boasts the highest residential speeds, advertised at over 400 Mbps, and includes several additional perks. Subscribers can qualify for a complimentary Starlink Mini Kit, along with discounted Roam plans for use while traveling, RVing, boating, or camping in more than 150 countries. The Residential Max plan is positioned as the ideal choice for areas with higher network demand, where availability of lower-tier plans may be limited.
The reintroduction of the 100 Mbps tier means that Starlink’s most affordable Residential plan is now on par with its base Roam plan, both priced at $70 per month. This development is noteworthy, especially considering that Starlink recently doubled the data cap on its entry-level Roam plan from 50GB to 100GB at no additional cost, blurring the lines between home and portable offerings even further.
As Starlink rapidly expands its reach, the company has surpassed 9.2 million users globally by the end of 2025, doubling its user base over the year. In addition, Starlink has received significant regulatory support, with the FCC approving plans to double its next-generation satellite fleet. This approval paves the way for increased capacity as Starlink continues to refine pricing and plan structures on a global scale.
