Starlink, the satellite internet service provider, is enticing Canadians with a new promotion on its Roam plans. For a limited time, new customers can enjoy a significant discount on the 50GB subscription, with the monthly price dropping from $70 CAD to just $39 CAD for the first six months. This represents a 44% savings, making it an attractive offer for those looking for reliable connectivity on the go. After the introductory period, the plan reverts to its standard $70 rate.
In addition to the discounted 50GB plan, Starlink is also offering a reduced price on the Roam Unlimited plan. Customers can now subscribe for $110 CAD per month for the first six months, down from the regular price of $189. This promotion applies to one service line and provides more than a 40% discount on the monthly rate. The announcement of these promotions was made via email earlier this week.
Starlink Roam is designed for mobility, catering to RV owners, boaters, campers, and off-grid explorers who require internet access in areas where traditional cellular service is unreliable or unavailable. With high-speed internet available across the coverage area and low latency, subscribers can stream, video call, navigate, or work remotely without worrying about connectivity issues.
This promotion comes on the heels of Starlink’s decision to remove the free “Pause” feature for Roam customers, which allowed seasonal travelers to suspend their service at no cost. In its place, the company has introduced a $7 CAD per month “Standby Mode” offering unlimited low-speed internet for those who do not require full connectivity. The discounted Roam plans may be an effort to offset the impact of this change and attract new subscribers despite the added commitment.
In addition to the discounted Roam plans, Starlink is also offering a $350 discount on its Standard dish kit in Canada, bringing the price down to $249 CAD. This offer allows new users to get a dish and six months of discounted Roam service at a significantly reduced entry price. The Standard dish is also 50% off in the U.S., where Starlink has recently lowered monthly fees for Residential plans in certain regions.
As Starlink continues to expand its global presence, with over seven million users worldwide across 150 countries and territories, the company is running a similar Roam promotion in France, Germany, and Spain. Discounts of up to 48% are available on both the 50GB and Unlimited plans in these countries, as stated on the Starlink website.
With competitive pricing on hardware and subscription plans, Starlink is focused on further growing its customer base, particularly among travelers seeking reliable internet connectivity wherever they go. The company’s aggressive expansion efforts and attractive promotions are positioning it as a leading provider of satellite internet services in an increasingly connected world.
