Porsche and Audi owners can now access Tesla’s Supercharger network, providing them with access to over 23,500 charging stalls across North America. This move expands the list of automakers whose EVs can utilize the largest fast-charging network on the continent, following Honda and Acura’s recent integration.
According to Porsche, EV customers will have soft launch access to Tesla’s Superchargers starting September 9th. To connect, owners will require a Porsche-supplied NACS DC adapter, allowing CCS-equipped Taycan and Macan Electric models to charge at stations with NACS/J3400 plugs, including Tesla Superchargers.
During this soft launch phase, Porsche customers will use the Tesla app to enable charging. Charging through the My Porsche app and plug-and-charge functionality is expected to be available in the upcoming months.
Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, expressed, “We are continually working to make every aspect of Porsche ownership as convenient as possible for our customers – and this news represents a significant step for owners of our electrified cars. As we launch this offering, in the coming months, we will be adding more features to make the process even more seamless.”
Beginning with the model year 2026, all Taycan and Macan Electric models will come equipped with the Porsche NACS DC adapter at no additional cost. Owners of 2025 Taycans and current Macan Electric models will be eligible for a complimentary adapter through the My Porsche app. Older Taycan customers have the option to purchase one for $185 through Porsche’s online shop or local Porsche Centers.
Both Audi and Porsche, as Volkswagen brands, are set to follow the parent company’s 2023 decision to adopt Tesla’s NACS charging port across their lineup. This transition is expected to eliminate the need for adapters altogether in the future.
This expansion solidifies Tesla’s Supercharger dominance as more automakers rush to adopt the NACS port, with Audi, Porsche, Honda, Acura, and others now officially onboard.
