Rivian is gearing up to release the 2026 versions of their popular R1S SUV and R1T pickup later this summer. While details on the new features are still under wraps, Rivian has announced that the updated models will come with a higher price tag compared to the outgoing versions.
According to the information provided by Rivian, the prices for the 2026 models will see an increase ranging from $90 to $1,090. This means that customers can expect to pay more for the updated electric adventure vehicles. The entry-level R1S with dual motors and the Standard battery pack will start from $76,990, up from the previous model’s $75,900 MSRP. The R1S Dual Large will retail for $83,900, a $90 increase, while the R1S Dual Max will have a starting price of $90,990, which is $1,090 more than before. The range-topping R1S Tri Max will start from $106,990, a $1,090 bump from the 2025 model.
Similarly, the R1T pickup will also see a price hike with the entry-level R1T Dual Standard starting from $70,990, up $1,090 from before. The R1T Dual Large will be priced at $77,990, $90 more than the previous model, while the R1T Dual Max will retail from $84,990, a $1,090 increase. The R1T Tri Max will sell for $100,990, also $1,090 more than the outgoing model.
It’s important to note that these prices do not include the mandatory $1,895 delivery fee, which has also increased from $1,800. Rivian has not yet released details on the features and options available on the 2026 models, including the pricing for the Quad Motor version.
One notable expectation for the 2026 models is the inclusion of a Tesla-designed NACS charging port, which would eliminate the need for charging adapters when using Tesla Superchargers. However, an adapter would be required when using CCS-equipped stalls offered by other charging networks like Electrify America and EVgo.
With the addition of the quad-motor version, the 2026 R1S and R1T are expected to deliver even more power and performance, albeit with a higher price tag. For those looking for a more affordable option, Rivian is set to release the smaller R2 SUV in the first half of next year with an estimated starting price of $45,000.
Overall, the 2026 Rivian R1S and R1T promise to bring new features and upgrades to the electric adventure vehicle lineup, albeit at a slightly higher cost. Stay tuned for more details as we await the official release of these highly anticipated models.
