Tesla Model Y Makes a Comeback in Norway and Sweden
Recent vehicle registration data from Norway and Sweden indicates that Tesla sales are on the rise again in March, driven primarily by the introduction of the new Model Y. This comes after a period of decline for Tesla in several European markets during the first two months of 2025.
Tesla Model Y Dominates in Norway
Norway, known as the world’s EV stronghold, has seen a resurgence in Tesla sales. According to the Norwegian Electric Vehicle Statistics, the Model Y has quickly climbed to the top of the registration charts this month, with 485 units registered so far. The Model 3 also continues to perform well, coming in second with 267 registrations in March.

Sweden Sees Model Y Sales Rise
In Sweden, the Model Y is also experiencing a resurgence, ranking as the third most registered vehicle by mid-March. Data from Car.info, as reported by CarUp, shows that 318 Model Y units have been registered this month, surpassing January’s total and approaching February’s numbers. On the other hand, the Model 3 has only seen 60 registrations in March, possibly due to its status as an imported vehicle compared to the locally produced Model Y from Gigafactory Berlin.
New Model Y Sparks Optimism
Despite a challenging start to 2025, Tesla’s sales are showing signs of recovery in key markets like Norway and Sweden. The introduction of the new Model Y has been a significant factor in this turnaround. While the full impact of March sales remains uncertain, the increase in registrations, particularly in EV-focused Norway, is a positive sign for Tesla’s prospects in the region. It is hoped that this momentum will carry through to the end of Q1 2025, allowing Tesla to regain lost ground and finish the quarter on a strong note.
