The 2026 Polestar 3 is set to receive two major updates that will enhance both its software and hardware capabilities. One of the key updates includes the introduction of a new Nvidia processor, with existing owners eligible for a complimentary hardware upgrade to the latest silicon.
In addition to the hardware upgrade, the Polestar 3 will also be receiving support for Apple Digital Key functionality through an over-the-air software update. This feature will allow owners to use their Apple iPhone or Apple Watch as a digital key to lock and unlock the vehicle, adding a new level of convenience and security to the ownership experience.
The digital key feature will allow iPhone users to share access to the Polestar 3 with up to five other users, each with customizable privileges based on the owner’s preferences. This feature is also compatible with Android smartphones, allowing for seamless sharing of digital keys across different platforms.
To take advantage of the digital key feature, owners will need an iPhone 11 or later with the latest version of iOS, or an Apple Watch Series 6 or later with the latest version of watchOS. This update aligns the Polestar 3 with the latest advancements in digital key technology, offering a modern and secure way to access and control the vehicle.
On the hardware front, the Polestar 3 will be upgraded to the new Nvidia Drive AGX Orin processor for the 2026 model year, replacing the current Nvidia Drive AGX Xavier silicon. This upgrade will provide enhanced performance and capabilities for the electric crossover, further elevating its driving experience.
Polestar has emphasized its commitment to delivering the best ownership experience to its customers by offering the hardware upgrade to existing owners free of charge. Owners will be notified when the new processor is available for installation at authorized Polestar service centers, ensuring a seamless transition to the upgraded hardware.
The U.S.-made Polestar 3 starts at $68,900, including destination, and offers a 111-kilowatt-hour battery pack, a single rear motor, and an EPA-estimated driving range of 350 miles on a full charge. With the addition of the new Nvidia processor and Apple Digital Key support, the Polestar 3 continues to set new standards in electric vehicle technology and ownership experience.
