Subaru’s Solterra EV to Get Significant Price Cut in 2025
Subaru is set to release the 2025 Solterra, their sole electric vehicle in the U.S., with a much more affordable price tag. The new model will be up to $7,000 cheaper depending on the trim level, making it a more attractive option for eco-conscious consumers.
The upcoming 2025 Subaru Solterra will see a significant price reduction compared to the outgoing model. Despite no new features being added, the price cut is a welcome change for potential buyers. The new model year introduces a top-of-the-line trim level called the Touring Onyx Edition, featuring sleek gloss black wheels and accents both inside and out. This premium version comes with an MSRP of $46,915 including destination.
For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, the 2025 Solterra Premium starts at $39,915, $6,500 less than its predecessor. This trim level comes standard with dual-motor all-wheel drive, advanced driver assistance features, and a range of tech and convenience amenities.
The 2025 Solterra Limited, priced at $43,415, offers even more luxury features including a larger infotainment display, premium audio system, and enhanced seating options. Moving up to the Touring trim at $46,415, buyers can enjoy additional upgrades such as a panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated seats, and smart key access on all doors.
A new addition for 2025 is the Solterra Touring Onyx Edition, priced at $46,916. This model boasts a unique design with high-gloss black exterior elements and black trim accents in the cabin.
Despite the price cuts, the Solterra’s EPA range rating and charging specifications remain unchanged. The electric crossover can travel up to 227 miles on a full charge and can be fast-charged from 10% to 80% in just 35 minutes. The maximum DC charging speed is 100 kilowatts.
The Subaru Solterra is based on the Toyota bZ4X and both models are manufactured in the same Toyota factory in Japan. The 2025 model year also brings a significant price reduction for the Toyota bZ4X, making electric vehicles more accessible to a wider audience.
Overall, the 2025 Subaru Solterra offers a compelling combination of affordability, features, and sustainability, making it a strong contender in the growing EV market.
