Tesla owners in Europe are making significant strides in utilizing the company’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised technology. Recent data shared by the Tesla Europe account on X revealed that drivers in the Netherlands and Lithuania have collectively driven over 20 million kilometres using the software.
This milestone underscores a notable increase in usage throughout the region. Just two days prior, the total distance covered stood at 15 million kilometres, indicating that drivers accumulated an additional 5 million kilometres within a 48-hour timeframe. This surge in usage follows recent regulatory approvals for the software, with the launch taking place in the Netherlands on April 10 and in Lithuania on May 20.
Feedback from early adopters in Europe has highlighted the system’s ability to navigate through unique local road layouts, including roundabouts, narrow bike lanes, tram tracks, and highways. Tesla’s safety statistics reveal that vehicles operating under FSD Supervised experience one major collision for every 5.3 million miles driven, a metric that the company asserts is notably safer than conventional driving averages.
The swift adoption and expansion of the dataset in these two countries come as Tesla gears up for a wider rollout of its driver-assist software across Europe. This momentum signifies a growing acceptance of autonomous driving technologies and a shift towards more advanced modes of transportation in the region.
