From its impressive range, quick charging capabilities, and efficient performance, the BMW iX3 proves to be a formidable contender in the world of electric vehicles. EV enthusiast and YouTuber Bjorn Nyland recently put the iX3 to the test on a 621-mile road trip, showcasing its long-distance driving capabilities.
Modern EVs have come a long way in addressing range anxiety, and the BMW iX3 is a prime example of this progress. With a promise of over 400 miles of range on a full charge, quick charging stops, and ample performance and comfort, the iX3 is a well-rounded crossover that delivers on its promises. Nyland’s road trip challenge aimed to test the iX3’s efficiency, charging speed, and battery capacity in real-world conditions, and the results were impressive.
Setting off with a full battery and cruise control set at 75 miles per hour, Nyland navigated the highway with ease despite less-than-ideal conditions. The iX3’s 108-kilowatt-hour battery and 21-inch wheels proved to be no match for the challenge, as Nyland only needed to make two stops during the entire trip. In just eight hours and 55 minutes, the iX3 completed the journey, matching the times of competitors like the Tesla Model S Long Range and the Zeekr 7X Performance.
What sets the iX3 apart, however, is its efficiency. Despite driving in colder weather conditions, the iX3 outperformed its competitors in terms of energy consumption, showcasing its potential for even better results in more favorable weather. Nyland’s verdict on the iX3 is clear: this electric SUV has it all, from range and performance to charging capabilities and comfort. For long-distance cruising in an electric vehicle, the BMW iX3 proves to be a top contender in its class.
