Tesla is gearing up to release a final, highly exclusive Signature Series run of its flagship Model S and Model X Plaid vehicles. The release will be strictly limited to just 250 units for the Model S and 100 units for the Model X, with the latter only available in a six-seat configuration. This special edition is invite-only, so if you didn’t receive an email directly from Tesla, you won’t be able to purchase one. To commemorate the occasion, Tesla plans to host a celebration event at sunset sometime this May.
Although pricing details are still a mystery, the list of custom features for the Signature Series is extensive. The vehicles will be finished in a unique Garnet Red paint, with color-matched door handles on the Model S and gold Tesla badges on the front. Both models will also feature special Signature and gold Plaid badging on the rear.
The interior of these exclusive vehicles will be equally as impressive, featuring a white cabin with Alcantara accents. The seats will include gold Plaid badging and gold piping, while the dashboard will display a unique numbering plate indicating the vehicle’s place in the limited production run. Drivers can also expect Signature-marked door sills, gold Plaid puddle lights, a yoke steering wheel, and a special interior lighting sequence upon entry.
Performance and hardware upgrades are also part of the package. The Model S version will come equipped with carbon ceramic brakes and gold calipers, while the Model X will feature standard red Plaid calipers. Both models will ride on 21-inch wheels for the S and 22-inch wheels for the X.
The price for the Model X is expected to be $159,420 US, making this limited edition final run a significant investment for those fortunate enough to secure one. Each purchase will include a Luxe Package, a Signature Edition key fob, and black skull caps featuring the Signature logo.
