Tesla owners in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa are in for a treat as xAI’s Grok assistant is now officially rolling out to vehicles in the EMEA region. This exciting update brings real-time information and voice-controlled navigation features to the cockpit, giving drivers a major intelligence boost.
With Grok, drivers can ask complex questions using live data from the X platform. In addition to providing general knowledge, Grok can now act as a personal guide by automatically adding or editing navigation destinations based on voice commands.
The initial rollout of Grok in Europe includes countries such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France, Portugal, and Spain. Tesla has indicated that more countries will be added to the list shortly, expanding the reach of this innovative assistant.
Grok first made its debut in Tesla vehicles in the United States and Canada back in December 2023. Initially available to users with Premium Connectivity and X Premium+ subscriptions, Grok focused on basic queries and integration with the X platform. One of Grok’s key advantages is its real-time access to X posts, giving it an edge over other AI chatbots.
The European expansion of Grok is made possible by the 2024.44.30 software update and newer iterations. This update deepens the integration of xAI’s large language model (LLM) into the vehicle’s local OS, allowing Grok to interact directly with car functions like the navigation system.
To access Grok in the new regions, Tesla owners typically need to be subscribed to the Premium Connectivity package. While a linked X account was previously required, recent updates have made the experience more seamless and native to the Tesla voice command ecosystem.
The ability to ask Grok to plan an itinerary and set the navigation in your Tesla, all while using Full Self-Driving (FSD), truly feels like living in the future. As of February 2026, FSD is available in eight countries, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, China, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and the Netherlands. With more countries approving public testing, the future of FSD expansion looks promising.
Overall, the integration of Grok in Tesla vehicles in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa is a game-changer for drivers, providing them with real-time information and seamless navigation assistance. With Grok by their side, Tesla owners can look forward to a smarter and more connected driving experience.
