Tesla has recently rolled out software update version 2026.2.3 to the majority of its global vehicle fleet, with the update now being extended to Cybertruck units as well. This latest update marks a shift to the main 2026 branch of updates for Tesla, moving away from previous builds with tweaks from 2025 versions.
After initially releasing the update in the United States and Canada, Tesla car owners in Europe and the Middle East have also started receiving the 2026.2.3 over-the-air (OTA) software update. Data from Tessie.com and TeslaFi.com shows that approximately 62% of the Tesla global fleet has already received the update.
The 2026.2.3 software update introduces several new features, including a child left-alone warning, easier unlatching of the charge cable, improvements to Supercharger maps, and Grok integration for navigation commands in the Cybertruck (beta). Notably, the Child Left-Behind Alert feature introduced in Europe with the 2025.20.6 update is now available in North America as well.
In addition to the visible features, the update also includes undisclosed security and bug fixes. The rollout in North America primarily targets legacy Hardware-3 (HW3/AI3) cars running on FSD v12.6.4 and FSD v13.2.9, with the last FSD update for HW3 cars being released in May 2025. Vehicles equipped with Hardware 4 (HW4/AI4) running on FSD v14 are not receiving the 2026.2.3 update, as they are on firmware updates 2025.45.9 and 2025.45.9.1.
The official release notes for the 2026.2.3 update highlight features such as easier unlatching of the charge cable and child left-alone detection, which triggers visual and auditory alerts if an unattended child is detected in the vehicle. The update also includes unspecified security fixes and enhancements.
