The Genesis Electrified GV70, one of the best-selling battery-powered models from Genesis, is getting a refresh for the 2026 model year. This update brings some significant changes that will enhance the driving experience for consumers.
One of the most notable changes is the introduction of a native NACS charging port at the front of the vehicle. This makes the Electrified GV70 the first Genesis EV to come with this feature from the factory. The NACS port will allow drivers to recharge at Tesla Superchargers in North America without the need for a charging adapter. Additionally, customers will receive an NACS to CCS adapter for charging at CCS DC fast chargers.
Another key update is the inclusion of a larger 84 kWh battery, replacing the previous 77.4 kWh pack. While the official range has not been confirmed yet, the bigger battery is expected to provide a longer driving range than the previous model’s EPA-estimated 236 miles on a full charge. The power output remains the same, with a dual-motor setup delivering 429 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.
Design changes have also been implemented, including a redesigned G-Matrix Crest Grille, multi-lens array headlamps, refreshed skid plate design, and new wheel options. Inside, drivers will find a new 27-inch OLED display that integrates both the instrument cluster and infotainment system.
The vehicle now features a motor on the charging port door for easier access and a heating element to prevent icing during cold weather. Improved lighting has been added to enhance visibility in dark conditions.
Genesis promises quicker and more accurate voice command responses with the updated Electrified GV70. The vehicle also offers enhanced over-the-air update capabilities, although specific details have not been disclosed.
Manufactured in South Korea and assembled in Hyundai Motor Group’s plant in Alabama, the 2026 Genesis Electrified GV70 will be available at North American retailers in the first half of 2025. While pricing details have not been released, the current model starts at $68,300, including destination. It is expected that the refreshed model will have a similar price point.
Overall, the 2026 Genesis Electrified GV70 brings significant improvements to an already impressive electric SUV, making it a compelling option for buyers looking for style, performance, and comfort in an electric vehicle.
