- The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 costs $43,975 and arrives at dealers by the end of the year
The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 has undergone significant upgrades, including larger battery packs, a Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, and the introduction of a rugged XRT variant. It will be the first Hyundai electric vehicle produced at the new manufacturing facility in Georgia, known as the “Metaplant.”
Expected to be available at dealerships before the year ends, the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is priced at $43,975, including a $1,475 destination charge, which represents a $780 increase compared to the 2024 model.
The battery capacity has been increased to 63.0 kwh for Standard Range models and 84.0 kwh for Long Range models, resulting in enhanced EPA driving ranges of up to 318 miles. The performance-focused 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N model was a precursor to these improvements, featuring the 84.0-kwh battery pack.
Various models now offer extended range capabilities, with the single-motor SE Standard Range model achieving 245 miles. The larger battery pack has boosted the range of single-motor SE, SEL, and Limited models from 303 miles to 318 miles. Dual-motor versions of these models now offer between 259 and 290 miles of range, depending on the trim level and wheel/tire configuration.

A new XRT trim level has been introduced for the 2025 model, featuring off-road-inspired elements. The Ioniq 5 XRT comes with a 0.9-inch suspension lift, revised suspension tuning, all-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels, and exterior cladding with a digital camouflage pattern. This variant is exclusively available with the dual-motor powertrain and larger battery pack.

The 2025 Ioniq 5 will be the first Hyundai EV to feature a Tesla NACS charge port, providing access to over 17,000 Tesla Supercharger stations without the need for an adapter. Hyundai will offer an adapter for the Combined Charging Standard (CCS) port previously used by the Ioniq 5. All new or updated Hyundai EVs will come equipped with a NACS port starting in the fourth quarter of this year. The Ioniq 5 is capable of DC fast-charging from 10-80% in 24 minutes with the 63.0-kwh battery pack and in 30 minutes with the 84.0-kwh pack. When using a CCS adapter on a 250-kw or higher charger, charging times for both battery packs are reduced to an even 20 minutes.

Exterior enhancements include redesigned front and rear bumpers, a new rear spoiler, and updated wheel designs for improved aerodynamics. Structural reinforcements have been implemented to enhance side-impact protection, with enhancements to the body shell, front and rear doors, and B-pillars. Inside, the Ioniq 5 boasts a revamped center console, climate controls, and steering wheel design.
As previously announced by Hyundai, the Ioniq 5 will be the inaugural electric vehicle produced at the new Georgia plant. This production location allows the 2025 models to qualify for a $3,750 federal tax credit. Additionally, Hyundai will offer a $7,500 lease discount to customers, leveraging a loophole in the regulations.
